To our valued clients,

IRS opens the site to provide direct deposit of stimulus payments.

The new Coronavirus Aid Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act represents one of the largest stimulus packages in the nation’s history. It’s designed to give relief to individuals, families, and businesses hurt financially by the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.

The CARES Act will provide an Economic Impact Payment, in the form of either a direct deposit or check, to most U.S. residents. For details on the Economic Impact Payment and its eligibility requirements, please visit https://www.irs.gov/coronavirus/economic-impact-payments.

If the IRS already has your direct deposit information, the Economic Impact Payment will be deposited directly into the same banking account reflected on the tax return you filed. You do not need to take any further action.

If the IRS does not have your bank account information, the IRS has established an online portal that will allow you to provide them that information. For more information, please visit https://www.irs.gov/coronavirus/economic-impact-payments.

Due to high demand, this site may be slow, and we encourage you to have information readily available to enter into the site. You'll need to enter your Social Security Number, date of birth, and mailing address. They may ask questions from previously filed 2019 or 2018 tax returns to validate your identity.

Please call your trusted Machen McChesney advisor if you have any questions.

Best Regards,
