To our valued clients,

The U.S. Treasury announced they would be mailing 4 million Economic Impact Payments (EIP) via prepaid debit cards, instead of by paper checks to individuals who do not have their direct deposit information on file with the IRS.

The EIP Card can be used to make purchases, get cash from in-network ATMs, and transfer funds to a personal bank account without incurring any fees. The EIP Card can be used anywhere that Visa is accepted.

The Treasury’s financial agent, MetaBank, will mail EIP Cards to eligible recipients starting the week of May 18, 2020. Each mailing will include instructions on how to activate and use the card. The instructions can also be found online.

Please call your trusted Machen McChesney advisor if you have any questions.
